Lightweight Cenosphere Fillers for Casting Applications - China Suppliers & Factory Products

Cenospheres are lightweight, hollow spheres primarily composed of silica and alumina, filled with air or inert gas. These unique materials are produced as a byproduct of coal combustion at thermal power plants. The color of cenospheres ranges from gray to nearly white, with a density of approximately 0.4–0.8 g/cm³ (0.014–0.029 lb/cu in), providing them with excellent buoyancy, As an innovative product made by leading suppliers in China, cenospheres are renowned for their hardness, rigidity, waterproof nature, and non-toxic properties, making them suitable for a variety of applications, especially as fillers, Key characteristics of cenospheres include fine particle size, hollow structure, lightweight design, high strength, wear resistance, high-temperature tolerance, and excellent thermal insulation. Our factory is committed to producing high-quality cenospheres that meet the diverse needs of various industries

    Cenospheres Production and our factory

The process of burning coal in thermal power plants produces fly ash containing ceramic particles made largely of alumina and silica. They are produced at temperatures of 1,500 to 1,750 °C (2,730 to 3,180 °F) through complicated chemical and physical transformation. Their chemical composition and structure varies considerably depending on the composition of coal that generated them.
Our cenosphere factory established in 1980, manufacturing around 4,000tons yearly. During the production, we withdraw and test the sample every half an hour, control the size distribution, true density, bulk density, whiteness and floating ratio very strictly. We ship our Cenosphere to Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, America and South America etc markets, mainly used for Foundry & Casting industry, Plastic filter, Insulation material and Refractory materials. Based on professional production, timely delivery and strict quality control, we are confident in providing you with the most suitable Cenosphere.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are Cenospheres and how are they produced?

Cenospheres are lightweight, hollow ceramic particles made largely of alumina and silica. They are produced as a byproduct of coal combustion in thermal power plants at temperatures ranging from 1,500 to 1,750 °C (2,730 to 3,180 °F) through complex chemical and physical transformations.

What is the annual production capacity and experience of your factory?

Our factory was established in 1980 and has an annual manufacturing capacity of approximately 4,000 tons. We perform strict quality control by withdrawing and testing samples every half hour.

What are the primary applications for your Cenospheres?

Our products are widely exported to Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, America, and South America. They are primarily used in the Foundry & Casting industry, Plastic filters, Insulation materials, and Refractory materials.

What are the physical specifications (size, density, melting point) of your Cenospheres?

We offer sizes in 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 150 mesh. The bulk density ranges from 0.35 to 0.46 g/cm³, true densities are 0.75, 0.85, 0.95, and 1.05, the floating ratio is 90-96%, and the melting point is 1500-1650℃.

What is the chemical composition of your Cenospheres?

    Our Cenospheres consist primarily of SiO2 (57 – 60%) and Al2O3 (30 – 33%), with smaller percentages of Fe2O3 (2.4 – 3.2%), K2O (1.1 – 1.3%), CaO (0.88 – 1.2%), TiO2 (0.8 – 1.15%), H2O (0.35 – 0.5%), and a loss on ignition (LOI) of 0.85 – 1.15%.
